Welcome to Tashmoo Days 2014.
Tashmoo Days promises to be bigger and better for 2014. We're bringing back a lot of what made 2013 such a success, adding a boatload of new activities and moving to a new venue...the original site of Tashmoo Park. (now Tashmoo Marina - located at 3272 South Channel Dr., Harsens Island).
Tashmoo Days is presented by Harsens Island St. Clair Flats Historical Society
The original Dance Pavilion will come alive with great LIVE MUSIC and DANCING.
First Nation and Native American will share their heritage through DRUM and DANCE performances
Master of Ceremonies/DJ Jason George will enhance the outdoor spaces with a variety of contemporary and nostalgiac music.
The 15th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Company B (Civil War re-enactors)
will fire LIVE CANNON rounds throughout the day.
Walking Tour of Victorian Homes c.1900 (Guide available at Welcome Tent).
Enjoy a cold beverage in the ORIGINAL Tashmoo Park Beer Garden
A selection of food and snack vendors will be available
Try your luck in the ORIGINAL Tashmoo Park Gaming Hall where Black Jack, Bingo & other games of chance will be available for your entertainment. (Must be 21 years of age with valid I.D.)
The sporting types can enter a HORSESHOE TOURNAMENT
First Tournament: 11:00 am start.
Random draw. $5 per person.
Purse 50 percent of entry fees plus prizes for 1st, 2ndand 3rd.
Minimum age 13.
Women and men over 65 able to throw from 30 feet all others 40 feet.
Horseshoes will be provided.
Second Tournament:1:00 pm start
Bring your partner. $10 per person.
Purse 50 percent of entry fees with minimum $200 guaranteed first place, plus prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Minimum age 13.
All contestants must throw from 40 feet.
Bring your own shoes.
Registration begins 1 hour before tournament starts and closes 10 minutes before tournament starts.
Bring your pop-up tents, umbrellas and chairs
Beer tent and food venders on site. Live music 10:00am till 7:00pm
|PlaceMake America, in collaboration with the Harsens Island St Clair Flats Historical Society and St. Clair Detroit River Sturgeon for Tomorrow announces the Inaugural -RETURN TO TASHMOO 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run (certified/sanctioned)
The race/walk will take place at 9:00am Saturday, July 19, 2014 on a beautiful scenic route along the St. Clair River.

Detroit Center for Public Archaeology (DCPA) will conduct an
Archaeological Dig & Interpretive Program on the grounds of the original Tashmoo Park.
Historical & Informational Lectures will be conducted throughout the day
Arts & Crafts vendors will be selling a variety of handcrafted items
A History of Diving Exhibit at the Historical Society Museum
will feature antique and present day diving gear, as well as images,and recovered objects -- among them...

Harsens Island is situated on the north end of Lake St.Clair at the mouth of the St. Clair River in an area known as the St. Clair Flats.
From points South or West: Take I-94 EAST toward Port Huron to Exit 23 Mile Road (M-29) toward Algonac.
(Approx. 20 minutes from exit to Ferry Landing).
From points West & North of 26 Mile Road (Marine City Highway): Take I-94 WEST toward Detroit to 26 Mile Road. EAST on 26 Mile Road to PALMS ROAD then SOUTH (right turn) to dead end at M-29. Turn EAST (left) toward Algonac. (Approx. 8 minutes to Ferry Landing)
